The authors have clearly sought expert professional advice in compiling this children’s storybook.  Designed particularly to assist parents of neurodivergent children to prepare for their first dental visit, it will work well for any child.  It is also a rich mine of dental health advice for parents.

Not only have Julie and Anna created and illustrated a clear and enjoyable storyline, they have littered it with accurate parental advice messages.  As well as helping their child, parents will find simple ways to manage their child’s dental health.

There is clear and consistent messaging, apparently the result of professional input.  In addition to the story there are simple rules and tips for parents and a reward chart with stickers.  There are additional resources online, including a singalong video cartoon, accessed via the QR code on the back cover.

A lovely children’s story, excellent parental advice and helpful resources all presented in a beautifully illustrated package.  Highly recommended to all parents, teachers, dentists and hygienists.

This book is so needed to help children who are struggling with communication. It will hold children’s attention by conveying the messages required to help children cope with their language challenges.”

Alicia - Surrey

This rhyming book is a gentle and kind way to help children understand differences and guide their friendships with their peers. It’s informative, simple and promotes tolerance and understanding beautifully.”

Lucy - Wiltshire

A truly joyful and charming picture book. A sweet, smooth and gentle story for your little ones for treasuring the joy of friendship as Binkie with her friends does. There are also things to find and activities at the end. The perfect gift for kids this holiday season.”

School & Nursery Visits - Reviews

  • The books are so relevant to our learners and celebrate everyone being unique. Julie and Anna were motivating and engaging. We really enjoyed their sessions.

Emily - Woodlands Meed School, Burgess Hill

  • We loved that the children could set up the tea party before we started the story. The children were able to talk about their feelings about school - linked into the Early Years For Schools and very age appropriate. We loved the characters and that the children could see the visual version of them.

Jasmine - The Learning Tree Nursery, Arundel

  • “Julie visited our school and the feedback from the children has been lovely to hear. Some reflected on their own behaviours that they share with Hedgy, others reflected on how they can support their friends’ differences. We can’t wait to read whatever may come next!”
